Lesotho, The Kingdom in the Sky is a hidden gem and a unique African country, with the highest low point above sea level of any nation and completely landlocked by the Republic of South Africa. These are portraits of people living the traditional life in the mountains. I chose watercolors because they capture the otherworldly, ethereal feeling of being in the mountains.
The black and white portraits in India ink are of people I know, people I have photographed, and commissions. These exercises in observation are meditative and give me the opportunity to enhance what I see and illustrate how I see.
