These collages are pieces of the products of preschoolers having had a field day or two with liquid watercolors on butcher paper. I couldn't bring myself to part with startlingly beautiful washes of paint upon paint, and allowed the pieces to speak to me and tell me how they wanted to be arranged, and how my pen and markers could bring their stories to life.

COMMISSIONED PORTRAITS
Commissioned works are challenging and I have gone for years when I swore off of ever painting a person, again. I even got a case of sour grapes because it was so difficult.
I welcome the opportunities to paint people and their loved ones. It's an exercise in patience and putting the techniques I learned into practice, and do my best to make the subject look like him/her self, instead of like their sibling.
