Toot, toot!

Toot toot! I’m tooting my horn.

Which is something that I never did, ’till now.

A few years ago, I was in a group art show. One of them is a full-time thriving artist now living in NYC. I believe that exhibit was the beginning of my awakening.

During the reception, there was a Q&A, and I “played demure”. I was “humble” and gave one-sentence (if that much) answers to most questions. I made myself come across as mysterious, or as if they should know where I was coming from. Really – I was playing small.

Until Tonya Engel began answering her questions, I wasn’t even consciously aware of how I was being.

She stole the show!

Tonya stood tall, had a serene smile on her face, and answered every question in detail, and then some. She had rock-star posture. Her energy was centered and grounded and she spoke and carried herself as if “This Is My Show! Thank you for coming!” Tonya knew that all she had put into it – the hours, money, materials, intellect and emotions – were worth it.

And inside… I woke up, then got emotional.

See… I got it! Finally.

My art is a gift given to me, and meant to be shared.

It’s not about me, but it is.

It is about me sharing my talent with you, joyfully and abundantly.

I feel like the-luckiest-girl-in-the-world.

When I share it the way my friend Tonya shares hers… I inspire you to share and take action on yours!

It’s so simple.

And that is why I am tooting my horn (and looking forward to hearing yours, too).

Thank you for taking the time to read (and if so inclined – comment).

Love & Gratitude,

Inonge

I have always believed that it is not how good you are, it is how good you say you are. So tooting your own horn is very important and is more a reflection of your confidence. “Ain’t nothing better than you believing in you.” So toot on!

Yes, yes, yes! It feels like a miracle and a whole new universe has been opened up to me… or I took the blinders off. Many thanks for your support and friendship all these years, Mr. Bydee-Man!

  3. It’s so lucky for me to find your blog! So great! Just one suggestion: It will be better and easier to follow if your blog can offer rrs subscription service.
